HOOVER DAM RUN

TIME: 9am meet at Sunset Station

LUNCH: Bring a picnic lunch

There is a separate parking area at Hoover Dam where you can walk up a zig-zag path to the bridge and then, optionally, cross the bridge. After some time, in case anyone wants to walk across the bridge, we'll head for Willow Springs for a picnic. Bring your own lunch and drink. There's a covered picnic area at Willow Springs.

When I drive over the dam to Arizona, I cannot tell where the high part is because you can’t see anything. I watched them build that highway and need to know what is what when I drive on it. So I’ve planned a run to the dam and a picnic in Arizona on the Colorado River at Willow Springs. There is a parking area below the bridge but not all the way down to the dam where you can walk up to the bridge and farther if you want. That’s up to you.There you have a view to get your bearings when crossing the bridge.
Afterwards, we’ll each bring our own picnic and head for Willow Springs on the other side of the dam. It’s a very nice area with boats and swimming and restrooms and picnic tables. We can eat and relax awhile before heading back over the dam
